Norman Augustave Lemke

Norman Augustave Lemke, age 87, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home. He was born in Kingsford, Michigan on June 15, 1929, son of the late August and Olga Lemke.

Norm previously worked at Bucyrus Erie for 33 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He loved playing the accordion, harmonica and organ and listening to his prized Victrola and 78 record collection.

He is survived by five children, Fred Lemke, Barbara Lemke, and Greg Lemke, all of Erie, Karen (Paul) Culbertson of Edinboro and Mary (Barry) Cole of Brownstown, Michigan; sister, Ruth Malizia, of Florida; brother, Russell Lemke, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lemke; son, Mark Lemke; and daughter, Nancy Jo Engman.

A memorial service will be held at a future date. The Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road is handling the arrangements.

The founder of the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., Constantine "Gus" Dusckas, was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1915, the son of Greek immigrants. It has been noted that the Dusckas family had a close relationship with the Drake family of oil well fame.
