Josephine R. Rinehardt

Josephine R. Rinehardt, age 95, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Golden Living Western Reserve. She was born August 22, 1920, daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (DiSantis) DiEugenio.

Josephine was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and was employed at Lord Corporation. She then enjoyed 33 years as a salesperson at the Boston Store and Hornes, where she won numerous sales awards before retiring in 1985. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Cathedral. She had a love for all animals, especially her dachshund Fritz. She loved spending time with her family and watching golf on TV.

She is survived by her son, David ( Gretchen); sisters, Mary Will of Erie and Dena Spong of Yorkville, OH; grandchildren, Jeffery Rinehardt of Erie, Kevin (Jordan) Rinehardt of Ashtabula, OH and Eric (Myla) Rinehardt of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren Alexis, Dylan and Zachariah of Richmond VA, Jacob (Jen) Rinehardt of Ashtabula OH, Seaman Sebastian Rinehardt on the USS Ronald Reagan, Ellie and Emma Rinehardt of Charlotte NC.; great-great grandchild Colton of Ashtabula OH. She is also survived by many caring and loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. Rinehardt on March 20, 2010, a sister Mae Wehrle, her twin brother Henry DiEugenio, brothers Anthony and Romeo DiEugenio, and his half-brother Samuel.

A special thanks goes out to Miss Kitty and the staff of nurses and care givers at Golden Living Reserve for their compassion and care during the many years Josephine resided there.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 536 West 10th St., Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Msgr. William Biebel officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th St., Erie Pa 16511 or Boys and Girls Club of Erie Inc., 1515 East Lake Rd, Erie, PA.

The founder of the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., Constantine "Gus" Dusckas, was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1915, the son of Greek immigrants. It has been noted that the Dusckas family had a close relationship with the Drake family of oil well fame.
