Ronald E. Weatherholtz

Ronald E. Weatherholtz, age 70, of Erie, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016. He was born in Arlington, VA on October 3, 1945, son of the late Ivan and Catherine Weatherholtz.

Ron was a kind and loving father, friend and husband who was loved by all. He had a friendly sense of humor which put everyone at ease. Ron also enjoyed traveling, music, playing his guitar and singing. Ron especially loved spending time with his soulmate, Peggy Weatherholtz, his family and church family. He was employed for 41 years at Zurn Industries, prior to his retirement. He is a member of ReaLife Assembly of God, where he served as an usher. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Reserve where he worked as a mechanic.

Ron was married for 51 years to Peggy Weatherholtz, who survives him, as well as two children, Rhonda Green (husband Rob) and Jerry Weatherholtz (husband Keith Donaldson); sister, Patricia Elorreaga (husband Nestor); brother, James Weatherholtz (wife Chris); grandchildren, Taylor and Jason Green, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marge Caldwell.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Saturday at 10 am conducted by the Rev. James Grover. Private interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to ReaLife /John21:17, a program which serves the homeless of Erie. Checks may be mailed to 3902 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506.

The founder of the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., Constantine "Gus" Dusckas, was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1915, the son of Greek immigrants. It has been noted that the Dusckas family had a close relationship with the Drake family of oil well fame.
