Robert C. Klaes
Robert C. Klaes, age 88, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Erie, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born in Erie on February 12, 1929, son of the late Edwin and Eva Klaes.
Robert retired from automobile sales as an automotive salesman. He was a member of the Union City American Legion Post 0237, Lawrence Lodge #708, Scottish Rites, and was a lifetime member of the Slovak National. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid bowler, golfer, camper at Camper's Hill and was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Robert is survived by his wife, Annie R. Hutchinson Klaes; children, Gary Klaes (Patty) and Terry Klaes (Kathy); grandchildren, Carrie Trojanovich (Jeffrey), Jonathan Klaes and Robert Klaes (Lindsay); former daughters-in-law, Carla Klaes and Tammy Klaes; and several great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Klaes.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Friday from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 11 am conducted by Rev. Mark McCallion of the Wesleyville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Erie/Crawford Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial contributions may be designated to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
