Betty J. Lloyd

Betty J. Lloyd, age 90, of Millcreek, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018. She was born April 2, 1927, daughter of the late Stephen and Martha Keyes Barnes. She was a 1945 graduate of Lawrence Park High School and member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a collector of bells and loved music, her country, and all things "Betty Boop".

Betty operated the switchboard at GECAC for 28 years and loved every minute. She retired in 2016 and was honored with the Spirit of GECAC Award. She was a 70-year member and past president of the Millcreek American Legion Auxiliary, #773, a 50-year member and past chapeau of 8 and 40 Salon 318, and a member of the Siebenbuerger Club Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a member of the Lawrence Park Historical Society and the Westlake Fire Department Auxiliary and volunteered for many organizations.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Diann Lloyd-Dennis (Steven); one son, Donald Lloyd (Patricia); grandchildren, Alice Fraser (Jeff), Sam Dennis, and Miriam Dennis; great-grandchildren, Chester and Lydia Fraser, and many dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers Clyde Barnes, Ed Goddard, Charles McCarthy, Clifford Guckes, and Michael Frazer and sister, Alice Barnes.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 536 West 10th Street on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday Immanuel Baptist Church, 901 West 28th Street with additional visitation one hour before. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Camp Judson or to the Erie Home for Children and Adults.

About Dusckas

The founder of the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., Constantine "Gus" Dusckas, was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1915, the son of Greek immigrants. It has been noted that the Dusckas family had a close relationship with the Drake family of oil well fame.
