Donna May Harner Steiner

Donna May Harner Steiner, age 79, our beloved wife and mother and nana, passed away on Thursday July 5, 2018.

Donna was born in Buffalo, NY on July 3, 1939. She moved to the Erie area at a young age and graduated from Wesleyville High School in 1957. She worked as a special reading aide at Klein School in Harborcreek, PA for many years and was adored by her co-workers and friends. After retiring from Klein, she devoted her time to her family and helping to care for her four grandchildren.

Donna was described by her family as the rock that kept their family strong and they describe her as the strongest woman they've known. She and Carl raised their family in South Shore Village in Harborcreek and resided there for almost fifty years. She created a beautiful, warm and loving home and kept her entire family in line. Donna also had many close friends and neighbors. She was so very loved.

She was an active member of the church she and Carl attended, the Harborcreek First Presbyterian Church. Donna had a love for life and Broadway productions. She would often travel with family to New York to see shows and she recently fulfilled her wish to see the play "Hamilton!"

Donna is survived by her husband, Carl Albert Steiner, whom she married in 1962. They had been married for 56 years at the time of her passing. She is also survived by three children, Heather Steiner (Jeff Meisel), Kevin Steiner (Kim) and Marc Steiner (Jenny Mellquist). She had four grandchildren, Hannah (19), Alexis (12), Parker (11), and Portia (9).

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday from 3 to 7 pm. Further visitation will be held at Harborcreek First Presbyterian Church, 6727 Buffalo Road, on Monday from 10 am until the time of the 11 am conducted by Interim Pastor, Robin Cueno. Interment will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. If desired, donations can be made in Donna's honor to the MPN Research Foundation for myelofibrosis and other blood cancers known as myeloproliferative neoplasms (mpnresearchfoundation.org) or The America Heart Association (donatenow.heart.org).
